Ph.D., Geneticist, Entrepreneur, and Investor
David Mittelman is a geneticist and serial entrepreneur. He holds a PhD from Baylor College of Medicine. After graduate school, David began an independently funded NIH research program in genomics at BCM’s Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC). He later continued his NIH-funded genetics research as an Associate Professor at Virginia Tech. David started his first company in 2012, leading it to acquisition. Currently, he is building and investing in a handful of new ventures.
Entrepreneurial Adventures in Genomics?
Over the last several years the genomics marketplace has produced some exciting innovations for researchers, clinicians, and consumers. In this talk I will share some of my experiences, in academia and industry, building products for this market and then speculate on future directions and opportunities for the genomics marketplace.
