Luminary and Pioneer Award Winners

Luminary & Pioneer Awards

The PMWC Luminary Award recognizes recent contributions of preeminent figures who have accelerated personalized medicine into the clinical marketplace. The PMWC Pioneer Award is given to rare individuals who presaged the advent of personalized medicine when less evolved technology and encouragement from peers existed, but still made major advances in the field.

This year, PMWC will be honoring Dr. Roger Perlmutter (Merck) with the Luminary Award for expedited development of recently approved groundbreaking therapies and Dr. Laura Esserman (UCSF) a precision breast cancer medicine visionary. For the Pioneer Award, Dr. Irv Weissman (Stanford) will be recognized for his trailblazing work in the stem cell field as well as Dr. Ralph Snyderman (Duke), for his vision to transform health care via personalized medicine.
